I was tuning up my s10 last night. It has a 4.3 which is a large engine for a small truck. I could not get the spark plug out of the 3rd cylinder. the others I got out through the wheel well. The steering column is right in front of the plug. Can't get a ratchet in there and can't use an open end because other things restrict the it's movement. Only have about an inch clearance.Tried to put a floor jack under engine but motor mounts not moving at all. Checked chiltons for recommended procedure but all info is very general. No help there. Anyone know how to service this spark plug?

I had the same problem on my v8, but you can try removing the steering shaft or use a universal swivel extension or socket. I used the universal with a bit of effort.
