I've had my trans. flushed at regular intervals and check fluid regularly one morning this week i was going forward got semi-stuck in snow and tried to back up i thought i possibly heard a clunk, after which i only heard a whining when in reverse, i got un-stuck and tried going through the ranges of the transfer case to see if that helped, nothing. on my way home I discovered that 1st gear really wound out in order to get to 2nd and i had to let off the accelorator to make it shift into 2nd. Is my tranny toast or is there a sensor or something I can try?

Hi there,

This is not sounding good, i think that you should get a trans tech to take a look at it and get a test & report done, a scan may pick up an electrical issue, but the gut feeling is a mechanical problem.

i actually have the same issue with mine it doesnt reverse and first gear is just really loud and wont shift up and i have to let go of the throttle for it to shift the most likely problem is that the clutch is burnt up on it cause that whats wrong with mine the problem is that since its trany work its gonna cost quite a bit anywhere between 900-2000$ its not a cheap fix unless you know how to drop the trany yourself and work on it

Just a word of caution here, when working on auto's you must have a near spotless and dust free environment, also there are may special tools required and the smallest error in assembly can be disastrous, auto transmissions really should be left to the professionals, that is what they spend years training for.
