We started to notice a gas smell on our 2001 S10. I went underneath and followed a few of the fuel lines, until one of them snapped the minute I touched it. There appeared to be a crack in the line (I think it is vinyl) just as it leaves the fuel tank, and when I touched it, it broke.

I have attached a few pictures of the broken vinyl.

What is the best way to repair this? Is there a fuel line repair kit that would do the job, or would it be best to have it professionally fixed? We are comfortable doing some of our own work but don't want to jeopardize safety.

Thank you in advance.

That is part of the pump, and that is what needs replacing now. This requires dropping the tank.
