I have a 2000 Chevy S10 ZR2 Extended Cab 4x4, 4.3L with 106,000 km on it. My ABS and Brake lights come on at random intervals. Sometimes the lights will come on when I start up and stay on, other times they don't come on at all. Other times it will come on while I'm driving. When it does come on, I generally loose all ABS function. A few times my ABS has activated during soft breaking at less than 10km. My fluids are topped up and fine, I've replaced my ABS sensor, my brake pads and rotors are less than a year old have still have a ton of life on them. No gouging, on the rotors.

What else would cause my ABS light to come on and for me to lose ABS function? How can I fix it?

You need to have the codes read for starters.

"Probably" a wheel bearing/hub unit....

but need to start somewhere.

Code that came up called for a new hub. Hub has been replaced, problem still persists.

If the same code returned, check the wiring harness for any damage on that same wheel. If a code now came up for the other side it may need that one also.

I have seen a few s-10, that needed both front ones replaced.
