2000 Chevy S-10 Vent to defrost

The heat and the air is totally adjustible. Hot and cold.
But it will not move from the vent to the defrost position.
Now more air coming from the vent than the defrost. Moving the knob from defrost to ac it will not change. Happen in the winter. Florida

often when this occurs, it is a failed blend door actuator that prevents the modes from changing. first you will want to check for bad vacuum lines though. a common issue with this vehicle is a rotten/bad vacuum line on the resevoir under hood. it is the black ball looking item on the driver side, by the hood hinge.
