2000 Chevy S-10 hood wont open when

my battery ran down because i left something pluged in the cigarette lighter. i need to jump start it ; but my hood wont open when i try the lever inside the truck i wont pop the hood open. maybe due to the ciol weather . any sugestions what to do !! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

as long as the cable for the hood release is working, you should be able to get the hood open my having someone hold the handle while you gentle tap on the front corners of the hood. tape on one side then another, have found that they sometimes stick. once you have the hood open lubricate the hinges and the latch itself and work it in.
