1998 Chevy S-10 Worn Fan bearing

Hello,

My fan assembly came off and went into the radiator,what would make this happen??? the mechanic is telling me worn bearing made it break loose. Is this possible??? Dude wants $ 675.00 to fix replace radiator, engine to fan mounting assembly new belt and anti freeze, is this high or what???

hi yes this is common bearing wears and fan comes loose and naturally right into the radiator.as far as cost not excessive high for a service dept. but you could do it your self. for a cpl hundred bucks and a haynes serv manual . very simple job . good luck billymac
