I was wondering if you can suggest any problems that might cause the white smoke from the exhaust? Head gasket? Pistons?

Typically it is coolant burning. Maybe headgasket, intake gasket? Sometimes you will see bubbles coming up through the radiator that are from a headgasket leak.

IF you pull the plugs and pressure test the cooling system for about 5-10 minutes, then spin the engine over with the plugs out, coolnat may shoot out the plugs hole to help confrim the leak.
