1998 Chevy S-10 map sensor

i have had the truck put on a tester they said map sensor was bad ...i dont have alot of money a single mom so i have 2 engines at home from s10 with blown engines ...i took map off one still same reading but what i was wondering is if there is a way to clean the senor or what could cause the senor to have a bad reading if the sensor is good.note the cataylic converter on the truck is rattlling inside ..could that be the problem ....

I don't know a way to clean it. At the map sensor connector, I'd check the wiring circuits first. Ref voltage--ground--signal. Also check the vacuum source.
