1998 Chevy S-10 I still have a problem.

Ok, so the problem is still there for the Chevy. I'm in big trouble because I need a new sticker and I'm going fail because my check engine lights on and when I checked the problem it said, MAF sensor (although I just replaced it), EGR valve (not sure what that is), and Miss Fire. I NEED SOME HELP! If anyone has some advise I would really really appreciate it. Thanks everyone!

The EGR is an exhaust gas recirculation valve that is mounted on the intake manifold. There is a valve in it that many times gets carbon build up causing it not to work. Check that. Also note, the EGR could as well as the MAF sensor could be causing the random misfire. Remove the EGR, clean it and the intake where it attaches if there is carbon build up.

After that, have the computer reset. Wait to see if the light comes back on. If it does, have it rescanned to see if the codes have changed.
