1998 Chevy S-10 distibutor and timing

I just replaced the gasket for my intake because it wore away and was leaking water into my oil. In the process I took the distributor out. How do i put it back in the right way I'm learning as I go.

Place #1 cylinder at top dead center
line the marks at the distributor and drop in
timing is not adjustable
