1996 Chevy S-10 timing chain noise

the timing chain rattles when the truck is idling. We can't make it stop, have replaced the timing chain and gears and tensioner. What to try next?[/quote:37e46a1a44]are you sure its not the harmonic balancer?check it they make noise too when the rubber damper wears out.

Thanks for your reply. we checked that. Apparently, there is an orifice in an oil gallery above the cam gear which becomes plugged and creates a lack oil to the timing chain. We are going to check that and unplug it if that is the case.
