1996 Chevy S-10 stop lights stay on

1996 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

I have replaced all the bulbs and the brake pedal switch and the brake lights still stay on , so I have to pull the fuse and run with no brake lights . any ideas? Thanks James

HI there, with the brake switch fitted, is it adjusted correctly, with the brakes off is there still power through the switch?

I took the brake switch off the pedal and manually push in the contact and the brakes still would not shut off. do you think I may have a grounded wire somewhere? thanks James

Hi there,

did you check for voltage running through the switch all the time, it may be a faulty new switch this does happen.
