I have replaced the TPS sensor and the EGR valve but I keep getting the same codes. p0122-tps low voltage and p1406-egr pintle position. Engine idles erratically when codes are present. Sometimes codes will clear by themselves. Any suggestions?

If the problem comes and goes you may have a wiring problem.Check all grounds. The ideal thing would be to have it on a scanner to watch the TPS and EGR to see what info the PCM is getting.Look for anywhere the wiring may be rubbed or damaged.Do you have a meter?

1 more question, it is a scanner or a code reader? If it is a scanner then go to info and see what voltage the TPS is sending back to the PCM.Also use your meter to verify 5 volts at theTPS.When it idles erratic have you shut it down and removed the EGR valve to see if any carbon from the ports has come loose and is holding it open? it doesnt take much to make it run very poorly

Yes its an auto scanner plus. I have 4.9 volts @ the tps. I'll check my wires and try removing the egr when it happens again.Thanx.
