1993 Chevy S-10 spark knock

immediately after having the transmission rebuilt on my 93 chevy s10 blazer (z enging, 4.3ltr-v6), I noticed the engine was spark knocking. The transmission sho has checked to make sure there are no exhaust leaks, but the spark knocking is really bad, regardless of gas grade used...what would be the best approach to resolving this?...I took the blazer to the CHEVROLET dealership, who kept it for 3 days, charged $60 and the receipt stated ' cannot diagnose since customer has added 'aftermarket plug wires'...Nothing had been done to the car except they had driven it on numerous lunch outings, leaving the back seat floor area full of fast food trash.

since the engine was running near perfect prior to the trans rebuild and no engine work was done, I thought there could be some correlation between the trans in-out procedure and the spark knock...is there a knock sensor with the z engine?...where is it located?...

also, the check engine dashlight was on immediatley after the rebuild and the trans shop said they tried to 'reset' the code, but weren't able to???

I finally found access to a computer and a getting 'Code 43'...the 'check engine light' is on... which relates to a faulty Knock Sensor...Apparently someone who had worked on the vehicle previously had broken the Knock Sensor Connector Connector (END)...and has taped it into position...The Spark Knock is quite bad & after doing some research, I found the Knock Sensor Connector is part of the EST (Electronic Spark Timing System) , consisting of the 'distributor HEI module' and the ECM (Electronic Control Module)...

If possible, I would appreciate some direction on 'finding' and replacing the Module, where the Knock Sensor Connector wire is connected...This ( the Knock Sensor Connector) may be the trouble, but I need some help on locating the module and wiring it into the system (wiring harness-Module)...
