After vihicle has been started, run a while, then shut down, it often will not re-start. Starter cranks enthusiastically, but engine won't start. Have replace plugs, plug wires, dist. rotor and cap, fuel pump. No change in result.

Hi Ron,

It sound like the Ignition Control Module, it is mounted in or on the side of the distributor.

That is the typical symptom of the control module going bad, it starts failing when it get hot.

Do you mean the ignition module or the ignition control unit?

It is called the Ignition Control Module, some call it the control module. It's mounted in the distributor. There are I believe two sets of wires that connect to it. Also the design will depend on the engine size in liters.
