when i go to turn off the engine, the ignition will not let me turn the key to the "off" position, and the only way i have to turn it off is to pull the high tension lead off of the coil (fun, not).
how can i fix this problem?
There is no key release lever, and i put the transmission into Park.
I really dont want to pull the steering wheel.

I hate to say it, but the problem is either in the tumbler or the ignition switch at the bottom of the steering column. If I would have to guess, I would say remove the steering wheel (sorry) and access the tumbler. Disconnect it from the shaft that moves the switch and see if it moves freely then. IF it does, the problem is at the other end. If it still doesn't turn properly, the tumbler is bad.
