Hey I have an 89 s10 that I'm putting a factory reman engine in and I had everything hooked up and while I was priming the oil pump and lifters with a drill and distributor with the cam gear cut off I noticed a significant leak on the oil pan gasket in the front below the timing cover. I bought a new oil pan for this engine and new gasket of course. I used rtv on the gasket between the pan and the gasket but not between pan and engine. I also was trying to use sythetic oil and I was wondering if I should just use conventional and it might stop. Also I was wondering if starting and warming the engine up would make the gasket seal better and maybe stop the leak. Any advice?

Yes it makes a hydroscopic seal to hold in place parts house has clips to hold. You can go all RTV RED no gasket
