Engine Performance problem
1988 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My S10 is missing or jerking as I'm driving. I have got a code 42 and 43 from the computer. I don't have a hei distributor so what could be the problem? Changed plugs, rotor , distributor cap, set timing.

42 and 43 both refer to the ESC system, can be ignition module, ecm, knock sensor or wiring...I would get a manual, for refernce on testing the components.
