Ok so I bought a new thermostat thinking it would cool my engine better. I havent't put it in yet but I am attempting to switch from a 195 degree thermostat to a 160 degree will cause me any problems or will it help me cool the engine better

Doing that will not help a bit-what's wrong? Is it getting to the point of overheating.

Subject: thermostat
no nothings wrong i just plan on getting a chip for my truck and it requires a lower temp but i may drive without the chip for a while

Back during my youngen days-what I do is use a 10K ohms resistor to fool the computer by hooking it up to the coolant temperature sensor connector.
