1985 Chevy S-10 Acceleration

There are several things that can cuase these conditions. There stalling on turns could be caused by a shot in the steering collum wiring but shouldn't case the lack of power. A failing torque converter clutch soleniod will cause the engine to die when coming to a stop, putting the vehcile in neutral would take the torque converter out of the equasion and the engine would restart but again should not cause a lack of power unless you also have a transmission issue.
A resrtited exhaust system or clogged catalitic converter would cause the lack of power and stalling condistion. This is checked by first visually checking the exhaust system for dents or other restrictions.
The catalitic converer over heating and glowing red is an indication of a blocked or clogged cat. If you can, disconnect the exhaust before the catalitic converter and try operating the vehicle. I of course will be very loud, but if you drive it with the exhaust separated before the converter and the drivability problems go away than there is a restirction in the exhaust. This could be the converter, the muffler or the piping.
These are just a few places to start, it could also be a fuel issue (when did you last change your fuel and air filters?) , wiring or computer issue...

Normally when i drive the truck it dies quite often. I have to put it in neutral at stop lights or else it will die. Sometimes if im turning a corner and have to step on the break it will die. Now I cant even get it around the block. If im lucky to keep the truck running long enough to go somewhere i have to step on the gas pedal all the way and the truck will only get up to 15 mph all the while it is starting to shake and sputter and then it dies. i dont know what this could be caused by? What are the symtoms you are having? What is the year, make, model, and engine size of your vehicle? Automatic or manual transmission? Get back to me with a little more information and we will help you figure this out.
