i am replacing the engine in my 2001 chevrolet prism with one from a 1999 prism.
the 2001 has 3 spikes on the camshaft for the camshaft positioning sensor.
the 1999 only has one spike.
will the 1999 engine work with the existing wiring? and are there any other changes that might be important?

Best advice is to call a local junkyard and ask. They have extensive interchangeability info.
