Hi, for several months now, my car is burning/using up lot of engine oil. I tried adding some treatment from auto stores which claim to reduce consumption. Lately I am using over 75000 mile engine oil. If I use it long (4 or 5 times), would it help. Should I be wasting money by using this expensive oil? I dont see any benefit now. I had used two quarts already and also used RISLINE compression repair with ring seal. Has not seen any benefit so far.

Do you have any recommendations how to correct it. I need to add 1 quart every 100 mile to keep the level. It runs smoothly, so don't feel like replacing it.

Please help.

Check for leaks first, front and rear main seals, valve cover gasket etc.

If you find a leak, fix it. If high oil consumption continues, perform a compression/leak down test, to see if it is an internal piston ring/valve seal/guide problem.
