Well ignition switch...as you know...is on the dashboard. The chrome trim bezel has two small holes in the face....some told me you use a paper-clip, insert in thru the bezel and it releases the tumbler.

My question is this...do you need the current key to remove the tumbler ??

I have NO keys for the truck (obviouslym or a wouldn't be doing this) The igniton does move to all positons except lock.

Thanks again for your help.

[quote:01e23fe7d5="techman1"]I'm not that up on older car dashboards, but if it has a faceplate ring with 2 holes, you can try gently to use a small pin punch and unthread it counterclockwise. My local automotive electronics supply just had generic panel mount ingition, start, accessory switches on clearance for $3 and I bought one and I don't even need it.[/quote:01e23fe7d5]
The thing is, I already bought a complete lock kit from The Truck Shop..which consist of four new tumblers...(both doors, the ignition, and the glovebox). I have a universal igniton as well..matter of fact its an all brass one...same one I use in my jet-boat...but I would rather keepth OG one. Thanks for your help. I do have the bezel with the two holes. I try it. Thanks.
