knock sensor location?

I recently purchased a 97 Malibu from the auction. (not running) I took it to the shop and the shop said that the motor was shot. I purchased a used engine with 80,000 miles from a 1998. (engine specs: 2.4L Twin Cam 4 cylinder) The problem I'am having when you put the car in gear and come to a stop it begins to shake and stutter until you press down on the gas. The engine light is on and the shop said that the problem is the knock sensor. I have a new one but don't know where to install it. Please help I already have over2k invested and I don't have no extra money to take it to another shop. Engine and Air bag light is on and I need to go get emissions by the end of this week.

Off of the main engine harnes in front of the engine, you'll find alead that goes to the coolant temp sensor, and just after that a little lower towards the driver's side you'll find the Knock sensor lead.

These engines are common for spark plug boot and coil housing failures.

well I fiannly fornd the knock sensor and to my supprise I went to auto zone because it was different from the one I bought for the year car I have. Come to find out the I swapped was out of a 99 Grand Am and not a 97 Malibu. The knock sensor from the new motor is attached woth a 2 prong pig tail, the 1 I bought is a single prong pig tail plug-in alone with the current cwiring on the car. The problem is my new knock sensor will not screw in the old slot, and the old knock sensor want plug into my current wire harness. Please tell me how to make this work. Even if i buy the correct sensor for the motor it will not connect to the harness I have.
