I HAVE A 1996 CHEVY LUMINA 3.1 V6. 112,000 MILES ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. MY OB11 CODE READER SAID CODE P401, INSUFFICIANT AIR FLOW.
I HAVE REPLACED THE ELECTRONOC EGR VALVE WITH A NEW ONE BUT ENGINE LIGHT STILL COMES ON. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?

I noticed that wiith the egr valve plugged in but not bolted in place, the valve did not move when iI acclelerate with the old valve, or the new egr valve.
shoudnt the piston move up and down when you rev the engine. Also have checked the fuse for egr it is fine. what elso could it be not making the valve/piston on egr not move

Yes you're right, the p0401 says: EGR system flow insufficient.
This is common mistake most peoples making.
you could save money, keeping your old egr valve.
Removed the new one you have installed.
you have 3 orifices down there between the exhaust and the intake manifold one or more of these small orifices are plugged. Use a scraper or screwdriver to scrap it until it's unplugged.
do not forget to reset the code.
