Carb swap??? can i make it work?

i have a 1966 chevrolet C10 with a 350 sbc and 2 barrel holly carb. and a 1962 chevrolet C10 with a brand new 2 barrel rochester that was running less than 10 minutes and i would like to switch out the carbs, but the holly has the vacuum advance line on the side of the carb but the rochester has it coming out of one of the bolt studs, and im wondering if theres a way to work around that or could i hook the vacuum advance where the vacuum line for the powerglide hooks up, as i would not need it on the 66 chevy because it has a standard. i want to switch because the holly has an automatic choke that doesent work too well and the rochester has a manual choke that i prefer. please let me know.

I would think it would work just fine. Just make sure your vacuum is taken straight off the manifold... and the new carb is properly tuned to the engine.

Disregard my statement about taking your vacuum advance straight off the manifold. I know a lot of old Buicks used to do that, but in all honesty, I'm not sure Chevy's do that as well even though they are both GM products. If the port for the vacuum advance on the old carb communicates directly with the manifold, then I would assume you could take it directly off the manifold.
