car cuts off

i have a 1992 cheverlet lumina (3.1) liter ive tuned it up with new spark plugs and spark plug wires ,the car idles good in park but when i put it in drive or reverse the car cuts off can someone help with this problem

I had the same problem that you are having. My car would start then when when I would put it in gear it would shut off then it go it would would not start. I had to replace the Idle Air Control Switch. This helped the problem. This may be your problem.
