I have a '98 1500 pick -up w/. a 5.0 liter. starter spun, did NOT (exept on rare occation) engage flyweel... Replaced starter solenoid, still didn't engage. Took starter and solenoid and had them bench tested and not only did the starter spin but the bendix kicked out as it should. Why won't the starter and solenoid work while installed?
