1974 Other Chevrolet Models Blowing oil filter gasket

I bought aa street rod that had been sitting for a while since it had been run, and now once it starts it blows the oil filter seal out. I replaced the oil filter adapter and filter and it still does it. It only has to run a minute and it is pouring out oil. The pressure gauge was only showing 40#'s of pressure. Any ideas? Thank You.

HI there,

Check the oil pressure with a master gauge first just to make sure of the true reading, do this first.
