1959 Other Chevrolet Models push rods

I was changing out my hydraulic lifters in my 1955 235 chevy engine. I pulled all the push rods out and looked at them for cleaning. My question is I thought that they had holes on both ends of the rod for oiling. Is this correct? I l,ooked at all of them and tried to stick a wire up in them, it didn't work. Am I wrong? Thanks Mike
