I believe that the heater core is out first noticed a little steam coming up on the inside of the glass then i slid the temp lever down to hot and hit defrost and i thought i was in a cheek and chong movie all kinds of steam from the vents and the defrost. Yes you are rite, its a heater core. It is located behind the glove box. If you have ac its more work, if not its still a fairly big job. I dont know how much you know about cars but you definetly want to start with a repair manual, Chiltons is a good brand book. You will see the black plastic heater core housing when you look under the dash, it has to come out. After its out theres a cover and the core is behind it. Carfull, the plastic is probably brittle after 30 years. Some of the bolts are under the dash and some under the hood, heater hoses, electrical conections, control cables, vacuum lines all have to come off. And sometimes the inner fender has to be removed, not sure if you need to on the nova, camaros with ac do. Do yourself a favor and mark where everything goes, masking tape and a sharpie marker work good for that. Theres the basics for you but your best bet will be to follow the books directions.
