I have a Chevy II Nova with a 327 and four speed Muncie. I was driving and as I approached the stop sign, the car died. After ten minutes I was able to get it started by giving it tons of gas. Now, after it sits, I can get it started but then it dies. I unscrewed the bolt on the top back (might be a measureing needle type device) and gas poured out. I pulled the filter from the carb and the carb leaked out gas. Is it possibley the pump? Or, if I have gas going from filter to the carb, is the pump fine? Could it be the carb?

Hello, what type carb, manufacturer, how long since you put a carb kit in it? The kit will have instructions, carb specs.

Sometimes, I remove the airhorn, top part of carb, look at the fuel level. Some models I can remove the airhorn without removing the carb.

It is a Holly 600. It hasn't had a kit. Do you think it needs a rebuild? The floats were fine a week ago...I never had issues before. I checked to be sure there was no debris in the level measure (the bolt on the back top of carb) and it looked good. THere was debris in there about a month ago but I cleaned it out.

Hi, have you tried talking to Holley, they have a web site. I can give you general info, but those folks don't work on anything but Holley. They have a tech support phone number or you can email them. Just a thought.
