I bought new door locks for the outside and when I try to install it there is nothing inside the door for it to grab on to Wht am I missing. I bought the locks new from antique chev in oakville.

there is a spring clip that slides in sideways that holds the door lock in. It may be sticking out on the outside pillar side of the door...
