I'd say at least three times a week the when she goes to start the car the the message center on the instrumentation flashes 'Security' and the car will not turn over at all. Each time that happens she has to wait for approx. ten minutes before trying again and the car fires up no problem.
A few things I've noticed with this issue; inside the owners manual, it states that if the the message center displays 'Security' while the vehicle is running then the system is faulty. Also, I once disconnected the battery in hopes that it would reset the system. It worked the first time, but not the second.
I want to find out if the system needs to be repaired/replaced and if so if this can only be done at a dealership or if it can be done at in the comfort of my drive way.
Also I was wondering if this is a common problem and if there's something she is doing that causes the system to crap itself and anyway to avoid doing that.
Any feed back is appreciated.
