2005 Chevy Monte Carlo Fluid Questions

THATS BAD,REAL BAD!the p/s fluid bloats ALL the rubber seals in the brake sys!to fix this here is a list of things to replace:master cyl,front/rear calipers,all 4 brake hoses,possible ebcm,flush out all brake lines.putting this fluid in will cause a low or no brake pedal and the sys will swell all the rubber in the sys.in a tiny amount will do untold damage.post back with any other questions.

how do i fix this problem

damn this really sucks, i did that like 2 months ago and ive been driving like that since with no problems. what made me check was when i noticed a whole bunch of oil all over my alternator and belts.

I would at least have it checked,this could develope into a major problem. let this be an expensive lesson.

no one is an idiot,people make mistakes,it happens.I just wanted to tell you this is a major mistake,as far as a cost,I"m not to sure but I can tell you it will be very expensive.you could call a local shop/dealer and maybe they could give a rough estimate. good luck.

thanks again . how do i go about asking something like that? what do i tell them i need checked? all i know is that there is oil all over my belts

just tell them what you did that you added p/s fluid to the brake master,(wait for the laugh)then ask them if they could tell roughly what that would cost and what they might have to replace.they might want you to bring the car in.if they tell you how much you can call other places,it might be cheaper.post back with any other questions.

well i just called my cousin who was the individual who i thought did this big error , and he told me that he never poured the power steering fluid in the wrong place, but that he put a little too much p/s fluid. could this be the reason why im getting oil all over my belts?

probably,with the p/s overfilled it will just push the excess fluid out,and all over everything.might want to put the fluid at the correct level,clean the engine and possibley replace the belt.
