If the fuel injector o rings were bad would you smell fuel and if the injectors were bad the car should have a FI code correct? I was told to replace the o rings and the injectors

Can you see any leakage? Fuel lines, anywhere? There are injector codes,but, only for circuit integrity. I don't believe there is a code for a leaking injector.

You could get a code for system too rich or lean. If the problem was bad enough, you might get a misfire code. Codes don't always set when they should. Can you chek the vac line for the pressure regulator, to see if it is dry?
