I have a 2001 Monte Carlo ss pace edition it turns on but when put on drive/reverse or any gear it wont move Not sure if its the transmission since it had no signs before it did have a whinning noise for a few weeks and when this happend the noise went away i was actually on my way to get the EGR fixed when i stoped at a gas station and when i turned it wouldnt drive.can u help?? Have you checked the transmission oil level? when you select a gear is there any indication that the transmission is getting power? in gear when you rev the engine is there any indication that the transmission is doing anything? is the speedo working in gear? If there is absolutely no response, you will have to get a transmission specialist to do a series of function tests on the transmission to determine the exact cause of your problem.
