2001 Chevy Monte Carlo

I checked my car yesterday and found that the oil had water in it. I was told that its expensive to repair. The day before it was heating up and it didnt have no water, because its leaking somewhere. What is the cause of water going in where the oil is at? How much would it cost to repair it?

Thank you for your help and i think its a V-6. Price to repair?[/quote:146020ac99]

there are 2 V6 engines that could be in your car.
the 3.4 is known for leaking at the intake manifold gaskets.

and the 3.8 had a problem with the upper intake made out of plastic and would crack and leak.

The cost will depend on how much engine damage has been done.

If you're feeling lucky, you can do this...

Fix the water leak.
Drain the oil.
put on new oil filter.
Fill engine with diesel fuel.
Unplug the fuse for the fuel pump.
Crank engine for 15 seconds and then stop for 5 minutes. Repeat 4 times.

Drain the diesel fuel and remove oil filter.

Now do a normal oil change.
install fuel pump fuse and start engine.
**Stop if you hear any heavy knocking sounds**
let engine idle for 5 minutes.

Change oil and filter again.

Now you just have to drive the car and hope for the best.
