Brakes problem
2000 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Automatic 115000 miles

THE ABS LIGHT HAS RECENTLY COME ON IN MY VEHICLE. I KNOW THE SYSTEM NEEDS SCANNED TO GET TO THE ROOT OF THE ABS PROBLEM. I INTEND THOUGH, TO REPLACE CALIPERS,ROTORS, AND BRAKE PADS ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. WOULD I BE ABLE TO DO THIS FIRST, AND BLEED THE SYSTEM, OR WILL I HAVE TO WAIT AND HAVE THE ABS PROBLEM FIXED FIRST? I RECENTLY BOUGHT ALL NEW PARTS TO DO THE BRAKES, AND I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE THE EXTRA FUNDS FOR THE ABS FIX.

THe light indicates that the system isn't working. However, your brakes should still be fine other than the ABS system. I don't see why replacing the brakes, calipers and rotors will hurt. As far as the light, chances are one of the sensors at the wheels has a bad connection, the wiring has been damaged or the sensor has failed.
