Electrical problem
1999 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My brake lights recently stopped working. The third light in the rear dash still worked and turn signals still worked and was told it was the turn signal switch. I replaced the switch and now I still have no brake lights as well as no turn signals. The 4way flashers work fine, but i get nothing with the turn signals or brake lights.

Welcome, there is probably a multiwire connector under the dash, close to steering column, that is for circuits going to and coming from the steering column. For the moment, I'm just talking about the lower brake lites. Dark green wire carries voltage to right rear stop lamp. Use a testlite on that wire, it should be hot when you step on the brake. If it isn't, check the white wire for voltage, with the brake applied. The white wire carries voltage from the brake switch, when applied, to the turn switch. The lower brake lites are wired through the turn switch, the high mount brake lite isn't. The lower brake lites and turn use the same bulb filament, just not at the same time. Do you think a fuse somewhere might have been blown? If there is brake voltage going to the turn switch and none coming out, suspect the turn switch or wiring circuit in the column.
