I have received a few different diagnosis from mechanics and I am not sure which one to believe and what repairs I should make on my car.

My car overheated on me when I got off of the expressway and shut off on me in the middle of the street. I then started seeing smoke come from under my hood and there was a slight burning smell. A gentleman assisted me and I advised him that the original owner of the car told me that I needed a new thermostat for the car and that is probably why it shut off on me. We replaced the thermostat and the car was still overheating and now the heat does not work.

I took the car to Pep Boys and they told me that my head gaskets needs to be replaced and that the oil and anti freeze are mixing. After they told me how much the repairs would cost, I decided to get a second opinion. I called quite a few different mechanics, and explained to them everything and mostly all of the ones that I did talk to , told me that it sounds as if my intake manifold is the problem. Like 3 told me to just replace my engine.

I would like to get my car repaired, but I am not sure which diagnosis is correct. I don't want to get something repaired and it turns out to be something different.

Based on what I described, which diagnosis should I go with?
