1996 Chevy Monte Carlo security light

My security light came on and it stays on when i am driving and will stay on when i shut the engine off and when i start it up again and the light does not go off. So i would like some information on that please help me.

have the vehicle scanned for trouble codes. You might have a damaged wire on your ignition lock cylinder, or a bad ignition key.
