I had my vehicle checked out by a mechanic who said that there is a hole in the piston in cyl # 4. and that i need to replace the entire engine. I'm now hearing people say to just take the engine apart and fix the piston. How long does this job take usually, and is it recommended if I have been unable to find a replacement engine. Is this something that can be done for less money and not too much time.

Thank you.

i would say depending on the cylinder wall, if it is in good shape you could get away with doing 1 piston. thats if you wanna stick the money into it. it shouldnt be that bad of a job
