my 1965 chevelle doesn't start. I've replaced the battery, the battery cables, checked the starter, the alternator is good, so I'm lost. I'm thinking its the alternator wires. Because I can jump iy and get it running for about 5 hours or so than it dies. Whats wrong? :(

Have you yourself checked it? Or did you have someone with a computer type device at a shop test the wires, battery and cables?

Im just an amateur when it comes to electrical, but I took the alternator to autozone and they put it on one of those fancy machines-it came out good. So they said check the battery. I bought a new one. New cables and all. But previously I had fried the alternator wires a bit so I'm thinking its probably those...

This mechanic across the street said they weren't that bad, so i just wrapped them with electrical tape. They really didn't look that bad,but ya never know. so I guess I should probably get a new set then? I just want to get this car runnin again

You should deff, replace those wires. and that should fix the problem. its not good to tape up wires. have those replaced and your car should run fine.
