I have a 2005 malibu I sometimes hear a thumping like it is in the wheels or suspension area...could it be the struts being weak.

is it a deep thumping noise or more of a rattle. is it in the front end area. check your sway bar links. could also be a rack and pinion. is this car a classic or is it a new body style.

it doesn't do it all the time just when I either turn on uneven ground or maybe when I stop an start off an the weight of the car shifts...it's just a small thump..have had the rackin pinion checked by mechanic says it is good...I would donate but I am a single parent trying to get by thank y ou so much.

is it a new body style or old body style. this will make a big difference

can you feel it in the steering wheel. it sounds like a rack and pinion to me.

I here it more than I feel it...over rough area it feels like no shocks or weak suspension

I have had a chevy mechanic check it out at his shop he says the rackin penion is in good shape..says it is tight an secure
