2001 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my cooling fans turn on and stay on when i start my car, and my "check engine" light came on also, what can it possibly be?

stop at your local parts store and have it scanned for trouble codes. there may be a problen with your temp sensor keeping your fan on. let me know what you find out
