1998 Chevy Malibu Heater gos on after either restarting or

Having problems with my electrical and dont know where to start. I will start the car and the heater wont work at all, then after about 30min I'll hear it ding like if a light went on, on the dash and the heater will kick on. Or Ill restart the car 1-2 times then the heater will work right away. The blower motor and heater switch are all fine, and dont know what it could be.
