The battery light comes on and the car shuts off

The battery light comes on and the car shuts off. The battery is new and the alternator has been checked 2x. They say it is good. The connections have been checked. A starter was recently put in and a power steering line was repaired.

i would check the belt and tensioner asmb,it sounds too me that the belt is sliping on the pully and the alternator is not puting out the correct voltage hope this helps lsauto

This problem is not an intermittent one. There is no voltage to the battery when running. When I start the car, the light goes off for about 30 secs then comes on and stays on.
