Noises problem
1998 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Automatic 150,00 miles

my sons car idles fine upon starting but has just started making a "reeEErrh" sound (medium loud) when pushing the gas pedal. Any ideas?

is there a check engine light on? does the vehicle move? does it have plenty of power?
